The World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) is the largest international organization for kickboxing. With 126 national associations, most of which are recognized by their respective National Olympic Committees, WAKO has continuously evolved since its founding. In 2006, WAKO became a member of the World Sports Association Sportaccord (now GAISF) and received recognition from the IOC in 2018. The organization has a long and dynamic history closely linked to the development of kickboxing in the Western world.
